A general question about Meridian to Symposium change over  [16/3/2005 22:18:33]

HELLOOOO people.

Once again I would like to say that I really appreciate the general feedback and answers that people have been providing to my inquiries. I have probably read just about every thread in this forum as well. All good stuff.

The position I was hired for was to assist with a changeover from a Meridian Max system to a Symposium 5.0 system.

I have to stress that while I have significant experience in contact centres and some other routing systems I did not know alot about these two prior to a few weeks ago.

A big part of my position is going to be looking for any possible problems that this migration will cause. As well, any substantial (negative) difference it could possibly cause. (I am a pessimist and prefer concentrating on negatives than positives)

Our contact centre has two sites with probably 150 seats between them and currently about 15 CDNs and multiple LOBs.

I do not want to seem like I am just asking questions without doing research. I assure you that I am and have already spent a considerable amount of time researching this.

I want to exhaust all the options I have.

In essence the question is,

Can anyone here think of any possible problems I will encounter or any "nuisances" that I should be aware of that isn't covered in the Nortel material?

Justin,

We did this last year.

As far as skillset setup etc it's easier to use than Max.

However the 'built in reports' feature frankly is C**p.
Yes it does have 60 odd reports already built but whereas with
Max you could define your own. With Symp / Crystal no chance.

Also when you produced a report in Max asking for multiple CDN's/ACD's
it would do the clever thing and ADD them together for the interval, it
assumed you were clever enough to want a total and would ask for individual lines if that was what you wanted. Symp doesn't.

All in all from a staff / team / skillset / application control point of view it's great.
From a reporting point of view not so hot.

HTH
