*Attention* Football Teams Wanted  [6/7/2005 16:56:04]

Any call centres fancy a challenge against our team. 11 a sides. We're based in Glasgow but would be able to swing a wee jolly if any of you southerners fancied your chances.......

Get in touch if you're up for it....

Interesting...

I was working on the idea of organising an inter-call centre tournament. Do you fancy having a chat?

Send me an email or give me a call - my contact details are on my website (www.darrylbeckford.co.uk).

Regards,
Darryl

Rules  [7/7/2005 08:53:26]

I'm guessing that depends on whose rules you play by. I assume Justin's not talking about "soccer"!

Soccer  [7/7/2005 14:23:07]

Justin, we're talking about a man's sport here. We don't wear protective gear here !!

soccer.. pfft  [7/7/2005 16:16:01]

Sorry guys,

Soccer over here is really only played by grade school girls with big socks. Protective gear is, of course, not required due to nothing happening during the games.

:D

We have a saying over here whenever someone in a real sport gets tackled or hurt. "Ohhhh...he went down like an English football player who got elbowed!"

Next time I am on that side of the pond I am so gonna look some of you blokes (hehe) up.

Just in case you don't know Justin...  [7/7/2005 16:43:13]

Rugby's a bit like American football, but you don't get to wear that nancy protective clothing.

On top of Darryls comment.

I'm not little either :-)

Well I'm too old and large for fly now, I'll take loose or
tight prop as I've still got a fairly useful uppercut :-)

We'll get a 15 up and play your boys no problem, after all we want two 'similar'
games don't we :-)

I got no idea what this means :D

as for the protective gear remark...

well you got to remember over here the average football (ours, not yours) is about 50 pounds heavier over here. (I googled and stuff)

Do you get many laugh's with such a hilarious one liner as

"he went down like an English football player who got elbowed!"

You have to admit its pretty rubbish.

Anyway I thought you play Ice hockey in Canada not American Football.

Ice Hockey looks pretty dangerous to me!

Rugby 7's  [8/7/2005 09:16:52]

Rugby 7's could be on the agenda for 2012.

With a home crowd you should be afraid, very afraid.

eh Jason  [8/7/2005 15:20:48]

Not sure what "rubbish" is exactly. I assume its a bad thing. ;)

We don't play American football, we play Canada football which is actually much more difficult. The field itself is longer and the rules slightly altered.

Ice Hocky yeah...thats a tough sport. Broken spines, no teeth, concussions are part of the sport. Besides the goalie and a helmet there isn't a tonne of protective gear involved in that sport either.

Thanks Rob  [11/7/2005 11:25:38]

The question would be where to hold it?

We'd need a company that was prepared to let us use their sports facility. Anyone got any ideas?

Sports Hall at Arsenal  [11/7/2005 11:38:49]

I often referee at the Sports Hall at the Arsenal. I know it as the JVC Centre, but I don't think they call it that anymore. They are always having tournaments there. Last one I did was for the Institute of Facilities Management who did a tie in with a cancer charity.

If you want I can get you a contact there.

Best regards,

Rob
