Agh... Under a Bad Spell!  [22/4/2003 08:16:16]

Dear All,
Have been on this site for a while now. And I notice a lot of enthusiastic posts and people. One issue that beats me red is the number of spelling errors that we call center professionals tend to make. And actually manage to post it, with running a spell check.
And, despite all the `campings' and `excectuion' and `rpresent'... there is still a lot of good learning happening here.
What say, huh?

Shilpa

Agh... Under a Bad Spell!  [23/4/2003 14:58:57]

Hi Shilpa,

Nice observation :) No mistakes, everybody learns through the trial. When we have a resource to correct the spelling mistakes we are just utilising it. But its always good to type it carefully when we are doing first time. Anyways we run the spell check to send the error free message.
Your suggestions welcome.

Regards
Madhav

Spelling in Posts  [24/4/2003 17:58:49]

I would prefer that people work on not using abbreviations and IRC wording. For example, there was a response to a career posting the other week that was just horrible! Who would ever hire someone who writes like this:
'hello mam
i just read ur article listed on the site well i wld like to apply fr a team leaders position as curretly i am working with spectramind mumbai since last 14 mnths and have prior exp asa team leader also... i am ready to relocate myself and u can contact me on ________ or _____ or mail me on ______________ or rediff waiting fr ur reply thank u'

It is not that it is offensive to me, but it makes me cringe, and I want to reach out and educate the person to type correctly.
We can't change the world I guess.

I think I know him!  [25/4/2003 07:30:04]

Dear Marianne,
I think I know the guy you are referring to. Anyways, we get aspirants like that all the time. Notwithstanding their enthusiasm and sincerity, well... one hopes they take this a bit more seriously!
Haste and all that apart, I guess it does make an impression!
On a more serious note (I hope I am pardoned!) the industry in India is sooooooooo dynamic that we have candidates jumping off the line even before they are through with their training.
Here's a mail, we received recently from one aspirant :
"hai ... heloo

as i saw ur ad in ____i am intersting ur job

plz let me know ur terms and conditions

waitin 4 u r reply"

:)) Him, we are not in a hurry to respond to!

Cheers!
