Avaya Definity V9.5/Meridian Opt81C with CC6 (aka Symposium)  [4/9/2007 10:43:56]

Ok, here's the score.

I need to know about the pros and cons of the Definity phone system.

I also need to know about the same for the Meridian and CC6(Symposium)

So if you have any gripes or niggles, let me know, also if you have praise let me know.

I want to be able to present a good case for both systems, based on my prices I have for both, but I will admit to disliking anything Avaya due to our current INDeX, I have previously used the Meridians and back in 99 they were far more advanced than any INDeX system IMHO.

Let me know and thanks,
Simon

Simon,

From the web user side CC6 isn't any different from V4.5 in
look and feel.

There's a few more pre-defined options.

One MAJOR issue is the output formatting.

If you have something like the application reports defined in 4.5
then export into Excel (Data only) you hit big problems.

We had a whole load automated in 4.5 using macro's they will not
pick up the data in CC6.

This means you'll need to re-write as all the cell
refs change.

That said the output is cleaner in CC6 it just needs
to be re referenced.

All in all, not bad but.......

I still miss the ability to define reports we had
in MAX. A pick and choose option for data fields
would make the whole thing so so much better.

But hey, it's Crystal.

Regards

So, can I ODBC data out, or is the MS Access Processor Hogging still an issue.

You see, we have an option to go with a Definity to replace our aging INDeX, or I have a rather attractive offer on a Opt81C with CC6 from a contact centre thats closing (I shall leave where and who out as I'm not sure if they know yet!)

I've never had an issue with this.

I've used Nortel for just about forever...and only recently switched over to Definity....not sure which one I would choose...probably Nortel but only because I am more familiar. Both seem like pretty solid systems.

Why have hardware at all when a hosted platform is available with the same/better functionality and totally user configurable including CTI, CRM integration etc for a fraction of the cost - with no CAPEX
