T1 or E1 lines for CISCO & isdn incoming-voice modem   [14/5/2005 16:48:44]

T1\E1 lines for voice routers are soo common, there are two conditions
when we mostly encounter this, On the Orgination side ( line coming to V.routers) and the termination side (line to telco),
Do T1 lines need to be ISDN, normally when we are talking abt T1 lines , i have seen most of the people confusing the T1 lines with ISDN .
Well, it can be but not necessary that always it shud be..
We can see T1 as ISDN in most of the cases , remember it will be orgination.
Orgination we need channels , take T1 as example , it gives us 24 channels when we are using T1 as ISDN.So we can accept the calls on these channels, But when it comes to termination we dont need this , what we need is a T1 just to send the traffic to telco, so mostly the termination side wont be the ISDN.
All the vGateway i have seen , is diffrerent from the way cisco treats it..
Cisco implentation ,
#isdn incoming-voice modem #
just to accpet the calls...but believe me , there is no modem , the funny part is people normally look for a modem , but wont find it...
as far as i think , its the DSP that cisco is treating it as modem , but i can see the latest versions of cisco , its
isdn incoming-voice modem voice/data

so if we a cisco config for termination , we dont come accross this line ...
its normally seen on orgination ..
this is what i have learned from my bitter experieces :-)

if anyone disagrees , please let me knoe

thanks
