Telephone Pre-Validation  [18/7/2007 20:51:30]

I am looking for up to date information on what the current pre validation rules are for uk telephone numbers. I have had a breif look on the ofcom site but couldnt see anything.

Does anyone have any links that i might find useful?

Jamie,

I'm going to hazard a guess you mean flushing data for
'Do not call' numbers, if so your starting point will be
the Telephone Preference Service (TPS. See below...

TPS SITE LINK

There are numerous companies that provide either

a) Pre-cleaned lists.

or

b) The list data for you to clean your own data against.

Please be aware if you are cold calling you have an obligation
to clean your data before calling and again at regular intervals.

Also, if using a dialler there are stringent constraints
on how and when you can dial, along with restrictions
on silent calls, callback methodologies.

Darryl has a good guide here:-

Darryl Beckford's Site

and the OFCOM restrictions are here.

OFCOM SITE

Hope it helps

Regards
