Comms wiring (Normal Lines) HELP!!!!!!!!!!  [4/7/2007 13:32:55]

Afternoon all,

Just a quick tech question...

I'm used to domestic comms wiring being
configured as follows.

Using six core solid.

On the RJ socket:-

Terminal / Core

1 = Green / White Stripe
2 = Blue / White Stripe
3 = Orange / White Stripe

4 = White / Orange Stripe
5 = White / Blue Stripe
6 = White / Green Stripe

Now what the **** do I do when
I've got only 4 cores to the cable?

Green, Black, Orange and White?

I'm guessing it's two pair and need
to go on 2 & 5 but...

I also know 3 needs to be from the Master
onward as the Ring trigger line for
the slave sockets.

Just to give an idea, the cable is an outer
Brown sheath with an inner Black sheath. I think
it's the old style cabling

The sizing of the cores is identicle to
the six core, just with different colours.

Oh and two cores missing :-)

Any suggestions welcome.

Thanks in advance

Four core plan  [4/7/2007 15:54:37]

1 N/A No connection
2 Blue with White Bands Speech and Ringing
3 Orange with White Bands Ringing
4 White with Orange Bands Not used but usually connected for neatness
5 White with Blue Bands Speech and Ringing
6 N/A No connection

use the Black as blue, if all other colours match above
