i work for a major FS company, with standard mon-fri 8-6 opening.
we close half day on christmas eve, and standard bank holidays; we (obviously) staff down during the winter holiday period.
there are obligations (FSA regulated) to notify customers if you are intending to shut down the business during "working" days,l as you may be accused of disadvantaging customers in timing critical transactions.
don't know of any FS companies that close the cc during this period; we have benchmarked so have a fair sample, but not all encompassing.
