How to increase your RPC numbers?  [11/6/2007 20:10:46]

With aview to Collections/Recoveries. I have been playing around with best time to call, who to call at what times (e.g. Age, sex etc) and what telephone numbers are best to call. In brief summary, here are my findings:

- Higher % of RPC's on people above age of 40 (primarily in none peak RPc Hrs - e.g. 10.00-17.00). This follows through into % of Cnx that become an agreement - thus making 40+ prime people to target when more data than resource can accomodate
- Work telephone numbers (that are landines) are near on useless for generating rpc's (and when you do get hold of them - low conversion)
- No incraese in male converion to female customer and vice vera (there is a definiate trend in a sales environment though)
- Uplift in RPC's between 12.00-14.00, primarily due to people turining on mobiles on dinner break)

Won't go on as giving away all my secrets!

I would be interested to know has anybody (preferably from a collections/recoveries environment) has done any similatr analysis thwey are willing to share/dicuss?)

How to increase your RPC numbers?  [18/6/2007 11:28:35]

Andy,

We have recently completed some best time to call analysis for a collections environment, and the findings were very similar to the ones you have detailed. We use 3 phone fields (W,M,H) and as of yet have not completed any individual analysis on actual results by telephone number, it'll be interesting to see whether I get the same results re work numbers.

Some of the challenges we have are the quality of data (phone numbers), is this something you also face and if so do you use any data cleansing companies? Also we are going to complete some analysis on each delinquency band/type by time of day - is this something you have done before?

Increasing RPC numbers  [26/6/2007 20:13:51]

We have tried to cleanse data in-house manually using internet based searchs - but as you can appreciate this slow going and relatively unsuccesful. We have also used equifax - but with minimal results.

We find that moving this data on to DCA's is most cost effective.

Have tried calling different deliquency days at different times. We tend to work our lower delinquency days at peak times (08.00-10.00 and 17.00-21.00)with the data further down the delinquency route as filler work in the middle of the day. The theory is simply to target the freshest data where there is most opportunity. By segregating the data int smaller campaigns, you can ensure that at some point all numbers are tried at different times of the day - increasing propsenity to get an RPC somewhere along the line.

Let me know how you get on with you analysis on work numbers
