Looking for "buzz sessions" / "energiser sessions"  [3/5/2001 11:44:12]

I am looking for some sort of "buzz sessions" to make life in the call centre easier for staff. I am actually one of those staff at the moment but have submitted my application to become a team second and am looking for anything that will help my cause!!!

Now i have been looking around this site and find I am one of the "lowest ranking" people in here!!! I hope this mean you have more knowledge on this than I do!!! I am not stupid and have been working on/off during school holidays for 4 years now...I am only 17 by the way, but I believe I have gained enough knowledge and respect to make this work!

Please Help!!!

Thanks!

Mike Fitch

Some thoughts...  [4/5/2001 14:28:00]

Hi Mike, don't worry, hopefully someone will come along and be able to help soon...

Great news that you're looking to make the move to team leader - what will help you is taking a look at what your strengths and weaknesses are. If you are good amongst people, this will help, as will commanding their respect. However, getting on too closely with your colleagues can make the transition a bit more difficult.

Now i have been looking around this site and find I am one of the "lowest ranking" people in here!!!

I wouldn't worry about it - we're all equals in here - don't feel afraid to contribute or ask questions - it's what this site is here for!

I am only 17 by the way, but I believe I have gained enough knowledge and respect to make this work!

That's what it's all about. It can be difficult to gain the respect and co-operation from your seniors if you are as young as that, but doing a good job in a professional manner, with fairness and integrity will eventually turn even the 'oldies' around!

Good luck, maybe someone else can help about the buzz sessions?

Argh Buzz Sessions.  [4/5/2001 22:27:54]

Mike, as John has rightly pointed out getting too close to your colleagues can be a problem when you move up the ranks. I know this cause I have just Made manager of a small team.

Personally Buzz sessions can be a useful tool in the work Place. Senior management probably have these too, but disguise them in the form of a breakfast meeting or something similar.

Firstly I would say they have to be structured similar to any other meeting, where by you have to get specific points across. Secondly I would strongly recommend that you schedule these, in conjunction with the Scheduling, Resource Planning department.

Buzz Sessions  [21/8/2001 20:36:04]

Hi,

What sort of buzz sessions are you looking for? Do they need to cover any topic specific??

Over the last 18 months I have written over 50 buzz sessions for one of the largets UK insurance companies. These cover everything from questioning skills, to selling skills and listening skills.

Let me know what you are looking for and I maybe able to help or point you in the right direct.
