Lightup the fire- call centre  [14/8/2003 14:12:41]

Hi all,

A new qustion....."Lightup the fire- call centre"

Most people working in the call centres r not taking this as the career opportunity. This is the reason why this is not a stabilised sector as yet. Why don`t indivudals feel happy while coming to the office, maybe this is not a 9-5 job, they think it is monotonus, no excitiment, just their cubical and the computer n many more reasons.. I hope i have touched couple of important points....

It is not about providing meals, transport, good offices....but something quite different from this........can someone please help me in discovering those important aspects to make people take this as a career path.........

Cheers

if attritions is the main problem then try more of team bonding and profiling within teams and team leaders.

We are running on 1% absenteeism and 2% attrition at a 600+ call center

I believe that a key to this is the way that the work is designed in the call centre....let your agents see the job through, using their brains and not a script. Give them the power to resolve the customers enquiry and don't let the job become a frustrating "the computer says no" task for them.
