Yes I have.

Asterisk   [6/12/2006 12:50:36]

Hi Baburaj

We run a number of live systems for large clients using Asterisk, and it can be integrated well with legacy PBXs and stand alone systems. Asterisk is a very flexible platform though documentation is a bit thin on the ground and not really targeted at the non-technical user....

I'd agree that it's not targeted at the non-technical user, but certainly wouldn't agree that documentation was thin on the ground.

Due to the nature of open source projects it has plenty available, from the annotated source code through to the excellent O'Reilly book published under the CCL - there's something for every level of technical ability.

If it's a bit daunting putting in asterisk from scratch there's always the asterisk@home version which seems to be a much easier introduction.

Asterisk@home has changed its name to trixbox and is at http://www.trixbox.org/ Theres more documentation and help at their forums than you can shake the proverbial stick at.

Asterisk PBX  [7/2/2007 14:16:53]

Asterisk is a stable platform for PBX, I believe some big call centers are now using asterisk. all of my clients here in the philippines uses asterisk for their voip needs. Combined with VICIDIAL a free open source dialer, you have an inexpensive solutions for you contact center.

Asterisk have a large support group, a very good documentation and a very helpful community.
