Chat Room Gathering - what are we waiting for?  [6/11/2001 18:38:26]

Hi CCV Peeps

I have been going in and out of the chatroom and never actually seem to chat to anybody, this is annoying as obviously the chat room is a good feature of this site.

Now John, i know you have tried to get the community to enter the chat room at a certain time. Can we organise something? If we all post when we could be available than we will have a greater success on us all talking together.

So, everybody post when they most use this site and then we can see what times everybody generally uses the site and organise an online meeting.

What do ya say guys?

I know what you mean, I was just there and saw that I just missed you too.

The most frustrating thing for me is the fact that most CCV members are in Europe and I'm in Canada. By the time I get to checking the site out, your day is done...

Hoping to hook up with other call center professionals...

Yeah I agree it is really frustrating to see.. your chatroom in this state, where your site is giving the best of the services to all CCV lovers.

Well ... i don't know how much cost it would Involve ... If you really want to make the CHAT ROOM popular ... you can try this. Your memebers could invest ... ;) ... I dont mind myself!!!

What you do is put a SMALLL FLASHING advertisement on the right hand corner of this website .... (where you have this guy making FACES..!!!) THIS Flash will DISPLAY the NUMBER OF PEOPLE LOGGED ON TO our WEBSITE! Now when anyone see's this ... He/she sould be in a position to see the Peoples Names list or profile and the number of people on clicking that FLASH, and then send the an instant message to INVITE them to enter the chat room. Something more SIMILAR to the MESSANGER service we have.

This sure will make your Chat room more popular ... than giving timing on the forum!!! What do you say???????????????

Flashing chatroom indicator...  [2/5/2002 11:56:56]

Good idea, Kunal.

We will shortly be redesigning the chatroom side of the site anyway, and some kind of visual indicator is going to be incorporated, you can be sure of that.

In the meantime, we realise it's not perfect (especially as the 'users in chatroom' list seems to still be buggy) but organised chat discussions at a given time, e.g. Voice Time (i.e. GMT) (and some sort of indicator within 'Voice to indicate what time 'Voice thinks it is) would be a reasonable workaround.

The new chatroom won't happen for a couple of months, however, as other areas of our organisation are soaking up our resources right now, but a better looking, faster and more fully featured CallCentreVoice is in the pipeline for late summer or early autumn.

For now, however, I'm in the middle of clearing my home prior to having redecorations and then selling, so that has my personal priority for the moment. However, I'll still be popping in at least once a day to check you're all behaving yourselves :-)
