First Tuesday  [24/4/2001 08:05:59]

Hi everyone.

Is anyone a First Tuesday 'member'? What is happening with it - I understand that the FT network had some problems, but has been reincarnated in a more local fashion in various places. Can anyone clarify the situation?

First Tuesday - is alive and well  [24/4/2001 10:35:58]

Hi there,

I am a member of the First Tuesday Club - and it is very much alive and well. Infact I went to their birthday bash in Glasgow which was about 6 weeks ago. An excellent range of speakers and product advertisements. I would recommend anyone in the .com business - start ups and otherwise should make an effort to go along. They are situated all over the UK, Europe and the States.

Here is some information which I received recently.........

WAP is a new and exciting technology that crosses the boundaries between E &
M commerce (don't believe the Paper talk "ever") when Java Phones and GPRS
rolls out later in the year "the WAP is crap brigade will eat their words"
just take a look at imode. 18 million Paying subscribers and good quality
services, roughly where we will be in a yours time + Even if you are not
currently totally looking at it you need to know about it.

Wed 25th sees a combined the meeting of the First Tuesday Glasgow and
Wireless Wednesday Scotland. The theme of this meeting will be WAP and our
speaker will be Dave MacQueen Creative Director of one of Scotland's most
exciting young WAP companies "The Games Kitchen"
www.gameskitchen.com Register now - see below for registration info.

David will be talking about, what's wrong (and right) with WAP, and what
future technologies will (and won't) bring. Creating compelling content
with limited technology and different business models that the mobile space
brings into play. David will be using The Games Kitchen creation "Wireless
pets" as a case study.

Wireless is going to be huge and compared to the Internet at a similar stage
in its creation wireless is streets ahead, early adopters will be the real
winners. Soon mobile access and trading with your site will have to be a
key part of everyone's electronic business strategy.

To attend this event email your
Name
Company name
Badge Colour - Green for Entrepreneur, Yellow for services, Blue for Clicks,

wishing to sponsor either First Tuesday Glasgow or Wireless Wednesday
Scotland should email gordon@icosmart.com and we will call you back.

The meeting will take place at "The Lighthouse"

Interesting...  [25/4/2001 08:56:41]

Anne, that's very interesting, but most of us aren't in the .com business, so can you explain how it would benefit those of us working in, or in the periphery of, the call centre industry?

Rob.

First Tuesday  [22/5/2001 12:13:07]

Just a question. Why first Tuesday? Why not Wednesday or some other time?

Actually, I'd be interested in finding out more, like:

* How can it help small consultancies break into new business?
* Do the big players attend?
* How much does it cost?
* Do you just turn up or do you have to book?

Jim
