Cleaning Foam Ear Covers  [7/1/2003 14:49:41]

Anyone have a good idea for cleaning foam ear covers? I may be being a penny-pincher, but I hate the idea of throwing away a perfectly good ear cover, especially when the agent only had it a week. But I also don't want to give it to a new agent without cleaning it somehow.

Someone here suggested I put them in the dishwasher, but I would like to hear from someone who has done that before.

Thanks,
Marianne

Cleaning Foam Earpads  [14/2/2003 18:04:03]

Hello there! I too hate to throw these away; they are not cheap! We have antibacterial soap in the washrooms, so I just hand wash them with a little of that and some warm water and let 'em dry. Had no complaints yet!

Ear Covers  [14/2/2003 19:36:26]

Thank you for replying... I was starting to think that I was the only person who worried about that.

I'll try that and see how it goes.

Thanks!

Cleaning Ear foam cushions  [1/12/2003 15:15:55]

Hello Marianne Marrou:

Our company makes a disposable headset covers called the "Earmate." The Earmate protects the ears from germs, infections, dirt, blood, dirt and other body fluids.

The dispsbale covers are cheap to replace in comparison to replacement foam cushions.

If you would like information about this new product we will be more than happy to send you some samples. The dispsbale covers, also comes in a varity of sizes.

Please email us djmcclenon@ashmfg.com or call us at 281-770-9181.

We would forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Dephillia

Letting it pass...  [1/12/2003 16:25:31]

Hi folks.

I'll allow this one as it's useful, and very relevant to Marianne's original question, or at least to the motivation behind it.

John

A different solution.  [2/12/2003 04:11:27]

If you are looking at replacement instead of cleaning the idrty little things, check out headsets.com. Thiss is where I get mine for $0.95 CDN a pair.

Christmas...  [19/12/2003 12:55:34]

I know that times are hard but 50p to stop someone getting an ear infection will hardly break the bank..... after all it is Christmas.....

penny pinching  [19/12/2003 15:28:57]

Right now that's what we do, we replace them. However it gets expensive, especially when you have alot of people who leave right after they get on the phone. It's kind of a waste that I have to throw away $1.00 every time an agent starts on the phone and leaves the next day.

There are no regulations requiring this here in the Florida, so we are just doing this to be nice.

BTW, I've never actually heard of someone getting an ear infection from a dirty ear pad, have you? (Not an ear plug, an ear pad)
