OJEC tender sites  [23/5/2002 12:29:52]

I am wondering if there is anyone who can assist us with a decision we have to make.
We are currently approaching the end of a trial period with BIP who are supplying us with daily notifications of any suitable OJEC tenders. Our dilemma is based around the annual subscription fee needed to obtain this information. Can anyone out there tell us where we can receive this information without the "tight scotsman" having to pay a hefty subscription? Also does anyone have any feelings, thoughts or even experiences with regard to the accessability etc of the ojec set up?

OJEC Tender  [23/5/2002 13:54:58]

Hi Alan

Call me a bit of a synic but i have found Ojec tenders to be fruitless i used to work with a company and that was a big part of my job finding tenders, they are very labour intensive with limited to no rewards ie chance of winning tender 0% i think i used a company called Tenders Direct who used to send me an email for the type of tenders i was looking for.
I wish you good luck but i don,t envy you, my personal opion for what it is worth is they are a waste of time

Kind Regards

John Nutley

OJEC tender sites  [23/5/2002 14:43:23]

Thanks John for the advice,I would agree with you about the time consumption used in trailing and applying for these tenders. It seems to me that, dare I say it, the awarding authorities already know who they will award the contract to before they post the tender;or is that just me being cynical. We have decided that this is part of our target market and I have the envious job of making it happen and it will...oh yes it will.

OJEC Tenders  [24/5/2002 10:05:59]

Alan,

I use the www.tendersdirect.co.uk site, they send nice free emails telling you what has been posted in your selected field. At that point it is up to you what you do or don't pay to download, having had similar experiences to John I try to do as much 'prequalification' as possible, but as you have found, the awarding authorities can be ....odd.

A lot of the contributors to CCV must be involved in the tender process one way or another and more and more projects are using this route ( not necessarily OJEC).Perhaps they could give us some pointers on what buyers are looking for in a tender response? Obviously I'm not the only one in the dark or maybe I don't have a devious enough mind.

Good luck with your scheme anyway.

Lynne

Simple  [28/5/2002 14:42:09]

BIP is a service you do not require.

Go to this website and click on TED, it takes a lot of getting used

tohttp://publications.eu.int/general/en/tenders_en.htm

Also try the Municple Journal & Chronical that the councils read, sorry I can't remember what it is called. All tenders not on the Euro Journal are in these publication available in softcopy foc from Emap look at the relevant websites.

Also as your local Chamber of Commerce they send everything to me.
