Plasma Screens  [29/10/2004 12:06:03]

Hi,

Has anybody ever thought of using or currently using Plasma screens in their call centre?

We are thinking of using them to update stats with more freindly graphics rathert than the dull wall boards.

Any ideas?

Plasma  [29/10/2004 12:16:05]

I think Dave may have some feedback on that one for you!

One of my friend recommended using LCD screens rather than Plasma as you dont get screenburn.

Oh yes  [29/10/2004 12:36:14]

At present we are using DACON Agentview with DashView and
PC Anywhere using the Multicast facility.[1]

I think Jason is expecting a tirade that's not actually going
to happen today :-)

All in all, the display features in that combo are far in advance of the
static wallboards that the display clarity is fantastic[2]. Config is a doddle
once you get your head[3] round the idea.

The only thing I haven't got my head round yet is messaging but
that's a case of RTFM on my part.

In terms of CAPEX it is ALOT more but if you have wallboards already they
can be replaced on a rolling basis using the software above (Again see[1])

Hope this helps

Have fun [4]

[1]This is not an endorsement rather the software I know

[2] Think Comet Vs 777

[3] This was the bit I was having problems when I saw Jason at Expo

[4] Shiny new toy anyone?

Plasma Screens   [29/10/2004 14:39:05]

LCD's are much better than plasma. As well as the screen burn that "Nemo" mentioned, quality is better and lifetime is much longer. Downside is that large LCD's are currently more expensive than Plasma.

Dashview will give some good graphics and that sounds like what you're after.

Although I'm a bit confused as to what Dave's total package offers...is this to give a display on each PC rather than a central wallboard? That's certainly another very viable option. It's the route that I'd probably pick as (software permitting) you have the option to display different metrics to different agents.

I removed a wallboard a year or so ago. We did consider a Plasma replacement, but Capex was prohibitive. Displays to each agents PC won the day on the occasion, especially as I got the software done inhouse.

Dave: Is the Dacon software any good nowdays? The last bit of software I had from them was SWDPlus for Meridian. It was a bit naff. No offence to Dacon - especially not if any of my friends from Hemel Hempstead are reading right now. I think they import it from the states anyway, don't they?

Hope Malta was good Dave, and that you didn't get narced!

Regards,
Darryl
