Report for July/Aug 2002  [16/8/2002 11:48:51]

Here's the report for the period 17th July to 16th August. We're in the midst of summer now and people are away on holidays, so the last month hasn't been quite as breathtaking as the previous few. In addition, we had a few technical hitches with the outgoing emails for registration which have curbed our new members figure a wee bit, but nonetheless we're still doing well. As always, here's the breakdown of the figures:

16th July 2002 (last month's figures in brackets)
3009 (2847) posts - +5.7% (+5.7%)
1803 (1666) registered members - +8.3% (+10.4%)
Hits-in-the-month: up by approximately 16%

Another steady month - we'd like to welcome the 137 new members who joined us during the month - hope that you all find the site useful!

Latest growth figures suggest that we may hit the 2000 members mark in November, which would be great. Extrapolating further, we should make 2500 by the end of February, which is ahead of our second anniversary (in April 2003).

Meanwhile, let's see some more interesting (non advert-related) conversations, to blow away the cobwebs! Also, for the sake of the site, we're clamping down on irrelevant replies to questions offering all manner of services - it's beginning to detract from what we're all about, so we will delete that sort of post if we deem it relevant. Please, only those topics which are worded to solicit business proposals should be posted to with such proposals.

Best wishes,

Report for Aug/Sept 2002  [17/9/2002 08:27:15]

Here's the report for the period 17th August to 16th September. We've seen impressive growth in the past month, and passed the 2000 member milestone a few days back. Growth breakdown:

16th September 2002 (last month's figures in brackets)
3245 (3009) posts - +7.8% (+5.7%)
2014 (1803) registered members - +11.7% (+8.3%)
Hits-in-the-month: up by approximately 20%

A great month for 'Voice, and we'd like to welcome the 211 new members who joined us during the month (an average of more than 7 new members each day) - hope that you all find the site useful!

Having now passed the 2000 members' mark, we're thrilled to announce that this site continues to thrive. However, as ever we would like to ask our members to tell their friends and get them to join and get involved. It's only by growing in size and maintaining the high standard of topics and postings that we can make a difference in this industry!

All the best,

Report for Sep/Oct 2002  [16/10/2002 09:39:19]

Here's the report for the period 17th September to 16th October 2002. The last month has been another encouraging month for discussion and new members.

Growth breakdown:

16th October 2002 (last month's figures in brackets)
3436 (3245) posts - +5.9% (+7.8%)
2216 (2014) registered members - +10.0% (+11.7%)
Hits-in-the-month: up by approximately 17%

Another great month for 'Voice, and we'd like to welcome the 202 new members who joined us during the month (an average of nearly 7 new members every day) - hope that you all find the site useful!

Many things are afoot within the CallCentreVoice team - in the next few months we will relaunch with a new look, added functionality and a cleaner, easier to use design. We'll be working with other organisations to help define strategy for the industry and ensuring that we remain the most visited call centre discussion community on the internet. In the meantime, we would urge our members to try to keep the good discussions fuelled and to try to minimise the 'spam' advertising which has resurfaced. We will take a stricter stance on persistent 'spam' offenders, but if everyone abides by some simple house rules then we can keep this site as 'lightly moderated'.

Look forward to reading your posts - remember, this is your site!

Report for Oct/Nov 2002  [18/11/2002 07:26:24]

Here's the report for the period 17th October to 16th November 2002. Another month of decent growth.

Growth breakdown:

16th November 2002 (last month's figures in brackets)
3620 (3436) posts - +5.4% (+5.9%)
2451 (2216) registered members - +10.6% (+10.0%)
Hits-in-the-month: up by approximately 18%

Another great month for 'Voice, and we'd like to welcome the 235 new members who joined us during the month (an average of nearly 8 new members every day) - hope that you all find the site useful!

Hope you're all still finding this site useful; in the next few months we aim to make it even better still, so remember to keep spreading the word and keeping the topics topical and the information informative!

Report for Nov/Dec 2002  [16/12/2002 12:52:26]

Here's the report for the period 17th November to 16th December 2002. This has been an interesting month as it's confirming that the site has hit a mature stage with steady growth and a continued rise in exposure to new people throughout the internet. This is largely due to an ever-increasing reputation as the internet's number one place to find out about all call centre matters.

Growth breakdown:

16th December 2002 (last month's figures in brackets)
3778 (3620) posts - 158 new posts - +4.4% (+5.4%)
2668 (2451) (2216) registered members - 217 new members - +8.9% (+10.6%)
Hits-in-the-month: up by approximately 15%

Though slightly down on last month's record figures, we've gained another 217 new members - and would like to wish each and every one a warm welcome to our community. That's an average of between 7 and 8 new members each day, which is an encouraging figure.

As always, we're keen to keep growing this site in the direction that you the members want it to take. This means that you have to keep coming back and contributing, keeping the spam adverts out and the informative discussion in. Don't forget to keep telling your colleagues all about us - we're unique in being the only truly independent call centre community remaining, run for the mutual benefit of all of our members.

We'd also like to take this opportunity to wish each and every one of you a happy Christmas and a prosperous new year!

Report for Dec 2002/Jan 2003  [16/1/2003 22:20:19]

Here's the report for the period 17th December 2002 to 16th January 2003. Steady growth and interest from lots of new members, but being the festive period this was slightly down on the high percentage levels of growth we've had throughout the last six months.

Growth breakdown:

16th January 2002 (last month's figures in brackets)
3959 (3778) posts - 181 new posts - +4.8% (+4.4%)
2873 (2668) registered members - 205 new members - +7.7% (+8.9%)
Hits-in-the-month: up by approximately 12%

Another 205 new members joined in the last months, which takes us tantalisingly close to 3000 members - which can only be a good thing as it shows that we're continuing to be the number one place to ask your call centre questions. We would like to wish each and every one of our new members a warm welcome to our community.

Keep spreading the word, and contributing in a positive and intelligent way. Keep the ads down, and the constructive discussion up, and we'll remain as Number One!

Report for Jan/Feb 2003  [16/2/2003 17:36:57]

Here's the report for the period 17th January 16th February 2003. As ever, things are positive and it's great to see the re-emergence of some of our more respected members (hiya DND & Vedula!). With considerable interest from members around the world, it's great to see interesting slants on estabished topics and some great answers coming through.

Growth breakdown:

16th February 2002 (last month's figures in brackets)
4060 (3959) posts - 101 new posts - +2.6% (+4.8%) [note: lower figure due to CCV housekeeping]
3093 (2873) registered members - 220 new members - +7.7% (+7.7%)
Hits-in-the-month: up by approximately 12%

Another 220 new members joined in the last month, taking us comfortably through the 3000 member barrier which is good news for this site and a great milestone. As ever, a warm welcome to each and every new member from all here at CCV!

Report for Feb/March 2003   [19/3/2003 12:21:31]

Hi everyone. Here's a slightly belated progress report for the period of 17th February to 18th March 2003 (i.e. slightly longer period than normal - my excuse? Well, in two days I get married, so I've been busy fretting, organising, fretting some more and so on...)

Things remain positive and the community has seen a lot of interesting discussion over this last month. Also, it's nice to see that the use/misuse of the advertising forum is sorting itself out. When we devised this community, we sought to try to keep the rules and regulations to a minimum, but a degree of moderation has been necessary. This costs time and therefore money, so it's in everyone's best interests to free us up for other things by following the 'house rules'.

Growth breakdown:

18th March 2002 (last month's figures in brackets)
4350 (4060) posts - 290 new posts - +7.2% (+2.6%)
3333 (3093) registered members - 240 new members - +7.8% (+7.7%)
Hits-in-the-month: up by approximately 15%

A positive month (and a couple of days) with 240 new members having joined; this means that there is a strong possibility of breaking the 3500 member milestone by our second birthday on April 16th 2003. This would be significant as it shows a healthy community in a strong position, providing information and discussion to call centre professionals in over 35 countries worldwide. Quite an achievement for a wee Scottish website :-)

So, to all of the new members and our existing members alike, thanks for the continued support from all here at CCV!

CallCentreVoice's Second Birthday  [16/4/2003 13:04:22]

Hi everyone. Today, CallCentreVoice is two years young. We've come a long way in a relatively short time, and the site is going from strength to strength. By way of a comparison, I thought I'd compare where we were on our last birthday with where we are now (plus the usual month-on-month comparison):

16th April 2003 (last year's figures in brackets)
4620 (2272) posts - +203.3% growth
3573 (1142) registered members - +312.9% growth

16th April 2003 (last month's figures in brackets)
4620 (4350) posts - 270 new posts - +6.2% (+7.2%)
3573 (3333) registered members - 240 new members - +7.2% (+7.8%)
Hits-in-the-month: up by approximately 14%

All-in-all, on this, our second birthday, things are looking fine. The community continues to thrive, but as ever we want you to go out there and spread the word so that we can grow even more rapidly in the next year.

A great big thank-you and best-wishes from all of us,

Report for April/May 2003   [16/5/2003 08:28:53]

Hi everyone. As we enter our third year, we've found that tough decisions have had to be made. In particular, continued hassles with excessive and often irrelevant advertising has forced us to take the decision to revoke the free advertising priviledge. As our emphasis is on quality rather than quantity, by restricting advertising we accept we may lose some members, but in order to make this a more productive and useful site for the majority, we are prepared to make the sacrifice. CallCentreVoice is here for discussion, information and debate, not free advertising. There are many other lesser sites in which you can advertise - but we want to maintain our position as the best call centre community and as such we're prepared to act to protect the value of what we have. Anyway, on to the normal monthly comparisons:

16th May 2003 (last month's figures in brackets)
4223 (4620) posts*
3828 (3573) registered members - 255 new members - +7.2% (+7.2%)
Hits-in-the-month: up by approximately 15%

* amount excludes the count of now disabled adverts - which is why it appears our posts have gone down over the month.

So, a challenging month, but nevertheless things are looking positive as the removal of advertisements seems to be having the desired effect of getting people talking again!

Report for May/June 2003   [18/6/2003 08:05:19]

Hi everyone. the last month has been a particularly good one for the community, showing that our decision to suspend the right of free advertising has increased both the number and quality of contributions on the various forums. With this emphasis on quality rather than quantity, we seem to be attracting a lot of new and interesting members with plenty to contribute. So, as ever, a big welcome to all of our new members.

Monthly comparison:

16th June 2003 (last month's figures in brackets)
4605 (4223) posts: +9.0%
4070 (3828) registered members - 242 new members (255) - +6.4% (+7.2%)
Hits-in-the-month: up by approximately 17%

A very positive month for quality contributions! Keep it up, folks, the community has never felt fresher!

Report for June/July 2003  [16/7/2003 14:56:19]

Hi. Another promising month of growth, and with the continued emphasis on quality of contributions, coupled with some 'pruning' by the moderators, we're seeing the evolution of this community into a content-rich and low-'noise' resource.

To each one of the 233 new members who have joined within the last month, we'd like to extend our welcome and hope that you can help us make this community even better.

Monthly comparison:

16th July 2003 (last month's figures in brackets)
4963 (4605) posts: +7.8% (+9.0%)
4303 (4070) registered members - 233 new members (242) - +5.7% (+6.4%)
Hits-in-the-month: up by approximately 14%

So, a solid and encouraging month for the community. Here's looking forward to the next few months as we continue to build upon these good foundations.

Report for July/August 2003  [18/8/2003 14:53:25]

Hi everyone. It's been an interesting month, and we're continuing to press upon each and every one of you the need to keep up the quality posts, without lapsing back into spam ads. What's more concerning is the steady increase of topics asking questions without any willingness to really 'join in' with the spirit of CallCentreVoice. What's crucial is that this community is not all about 'take' - there has to be a 'give' as well. So, if you have useful experience, we'd be delighted if you could trawl through some of the existing topics, especially those without answers, and try to help some other member out.

We've gained a lot of new faces in this last month, to take us to 281 new members. Please join with me in extending a warm welcome to each and every one - hopefully you'll all be able to help us grow the community and root out those contact centre issues that need to be discussed!

Monthly comparison:

16th August 2003 (last month's figures in brackets)
4980 (4963) posts: +0.4% (+7.8%)*
4590 (4303) registered members - 281 new members (233) - +6.6% (+5.7%)
Hits-in-the-month: up by approximately 13%

* Low post growth due to quarantining of several popular and large topics, whilst we work on a more efficient paging system. If we hadn't quarantined these topics, we'd be looking at around a growth of 7% in the last month.

So, yet again, a solid and encouraging month for the community. Keep it up!

John & The Admin Team

Final progress report...  [17/9/2003 09:42:32]

Hi everyone.

Now that we're approaching the 5000 member milestone, we've decided that the growth progress report contained in this topic, which I've been filling in faithfully for over two years, is now less relevant as the growth figures involved cease to reflect the true popularity of the site.

For example, the number of posts no longer reflects true usage as we now actively moderate and so for every few new posts that are added to the community, there may be a similar number which are removed. In addition, each month we trim a few old or out-dated topics which also reduces the apparent growth. Also, registered member counts, whilst useful as a rule-of-thumb indication of how many people have registered since the start of the community, do not reflect active usage, and no reliable metric exists to indicate how many of these members are currently active at a given point in time. So, recording month-on-month growth has gradually become of marginal interest to both the CallCentreVoice team and to the community membership at large.

The only true indication of success is, and will continue to be, the number of members who find the site useful and return to participate in growing this valuable and content-rich resource. Of course, it's very difficult to guage the size of this number and attempting to do so would use up valuable time which we'd rather spend developing the community.

As we approach the release of a new, revised CallCentreVoice site - containing all of your favourite content but in a more cosmetically attractive yet structured fashion - we would like to thank you all for sticking with this industry-leading site through thick and thin. It's by your continued contribution that we are able to attract new members yet our emphasis has changed to developing the member experience for those that we currently have - and if that means that we attract fewer members in future, then so be it, for our primary objective is in building on the foundations of our community - your community!

Best wishes from the admin team and myself,

John
