Administrator's note  [17/4/2001 21:48:03]

Hello. As this is a fairly new site, we hope that everything runs smoothly and that our members can make maximum use of the forums. However, should anything go horribly wrong, please let us know - send an email to me at ccv.support@callcentredatabase.com and we'll look into it. A note of any error messages or odd behaviour would be very useful too. Other than that, just a quick 'best wishes' and I hope you all enjoy the site. Admin Team.

I'd like to add...  [17/4/2001 21:49:18]

...that we're particularly interested in *what* you were doing around the time of any 'incidents' so that we can hopefully find out what (if anything) went wrong. Good luck!

Update  [22/5/2001 09:38:46]

Hi folks.

We've now passed our first month without too many crises, but in the last few days we've been hit by a couple of outages. Whilst these are fairly easy to remedy (the big red buttons on the sides of the servers ;-) they can sometimes catch us unawares (usually at 4am, when we're off in the land of nod).

So, if you do visit the site and there appears to be a problem, please don't give up - we will address any outages as quickly as possible, so try checking back in an hour or so.

We're soon to be migrating to a quintet of load balanced servers (as opposed to the current pair) which will make any temporary glitches a thing of the past (touch wood :-)

You guys have been great so far, stick with us, we'll make you stars (ok, so I exaggerate a tad)...

All the best,

John

Help Us Help You  [22/5/2001 15:18:01]

WHen teh servers were down recently I just guessed at an email address to send a note to. Why not put a feedback contact on every page just in case? Then you can set up a pager so that it pages the webmaster when a message is received

Easy peasy...

David

Progress  [22/5/2001 16:03:15]

Thanks for your suggestion, David. We've been looking into the problem with the RPC Server, and we're monitoring the situation. I expect the team will be able to put a fix in place this evening, and hopefully the site will be a bit more stable by this time tomorrow...

Typical MS products, eh?

[smile]

Meanwhile, thanks again for everyone's patience - we'll get this site sorted out yet!

Brief outage, Wednesday 1st August  [1/8/2001 17:20:49]

Hi everyone,

We suffered an ISP-based outage earlier this afternoon; this prevented access to our servers and hence CCV. Please accept my apologies for this unforseen hiccup. Those responsible have been terminated... okay, I'm kidding about that last bit.

Thanks for bearing with us,

John
